Vandana carries 25 years of rich experience in the field of disability. She is a trained special educator from‘National Institute for Mentally Handicapped’ (Ministry of social justice, Govt. of India). She topped in the batch of 1994.She has graduated from University of Delhi in 1993 and did her post-graduation in Applied Psychology and also has submitted her research work for doctorate degree. The significance of her study extends to the parents in helping them to adopt effective strategies for coping and dealing efficiently with their psychological problems. In turn it will help them to adopt better child rearing practices which will ultimately benefit their special children. She enhanced and upgraded her professional knowledge by doing Certificate course in Professional Practice –‘Aspects of Learning Difficulties for Children and Young People with Disabilities’ from ‘Amar Jyoti -Delhi’ in collaboration with ‘Roehampton University, London’ in 2008. Vandana is a member of ‘State Program Committee of Special Olympic, Delhi’ and also working as a consultant to ‘Genesis Global School, Noida’ for including children with special needs into mainstream.• She is also an External Expert for the Departmental Research Committee (DRC) of Rehabilitation Sciences Domain, Amity University, U.P.
