leisure activities, which are an integral part of rehabilitation and social
reintegration.
Recreational participation, is necessary for a normal, balanced lifestyle
for all people, and essential as a means of self-expression, release, and
socialization for the people with special needs. Like any other rehabilitation
therapy, therapeutic recreation helps to achieve highest possible level of
independence and quality of life.
Activities like art and craft, group and role model play, music and dance
lessons, picnics and outdoor games and gardening which are cautiously guided
and modified by experienced staff are carried out as routine. They facilitate
relevant social and play behaviors and expression of emotions in socially
acceptable means.
